Welcome to the English Department!

The TCU Department of English offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the study of literatures and cultures; writing and rhetorics; and creative writing. We believe language, literature, creative expression, and effective communication are at the heart of what it means to be human. Our committed faculty of teacher-scholars serve students with a diversity of interests. We offer a variety of courses, centering small classes, dynamic discussions, and workshop-based learning. The curriculum supports intensive study in Literature, Rhetoric, and Creative Writing while also allowing students to combine these areas according to their own professional goals.
